GENERAL MISSION
Want to help
make a difference in the world?

The General Mission Committee
works in close cooperation with the
Stewardship and
Finance Committee in interpreting the
General Mission of the Church to the
congregation. This committee keeps the
congregation well informed of the involvement of
the Presbyterian Church in mission activities.
The responsibilities include
coordinating the fund-raising activities of the
two annual General Assembly Special Offerings,
One Great Hour of Sharing during Lent, and the
Christmas Offering during Advent, and
recommending monetary goals for these offerings;
gathering information about mission activities
of the
Presbytery,
Synod,
and General Assembly and disseminating it to the
members via bulletin boards, newsletters, and
church bulletins; planning field trips for the
congregation to visit mission projects; inviting
guest speakers to discuss mission projects at
one or more adult seminars; and recommending
designations for the Grant Package. In other
words, this committee coordinates mission
activities of the Congregation beyond the local
area.
Some things the General
Mission Committee is working on:
Operation Christmas Child and the Christmas Joy
Offering which will be collected during Advent.
